Pipeline TestingWhen it comes to the maintenance of pipelines, one of the most difficult tasks is detecting corrosion damage early enough with reasonable testing efforts and then evaluating its extent. The goal is to ensure that production remains cost-efficient and, above all, that the system operates safely. Operators of pipelines are obligated to ensure that they are kept in proper condition, are permanently monitored, and that all the necessary maintenance and repair work is carried out without delay and appropriate safety measures are taken. It is important here to avoid personal injury and damage to property. The most problematic areas to examine are pipe sections that are not freely accessible, such as those that are possibly insulated, coated, joined to masonry, laid in the ground or even embedded in concrete. Our CORRfinder test system, which we developed together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing (IZfP) in Saarbrücken, solves this problem. LinksCorrfinder
