Inspection of Tension Wires for Corrosion DamageTension wires, which are used, among other things, to hang and suspend street lights, are constantly exposed to changing environmental conditions such as humidity, rain and temperature fluctuations. As a result, corrosion damage occurs after a while and reduces the load capacity of the tension wire. The damage causes a tapering of the wire cross-section as a result of erosion and the formation of holes. As soon as the corrosion damage exceeds a certain level, there is a risk of acute loss of function which can result in the wire breaking. This can lead to unforeseeable damage to vehicles, buildings and people. To prevent this, the tension wires should in future be checked for corrosion damage. For this purpose, we have developed a testing system that is able to tackle this task. Development is almost ready for series production. Please contact us to be kept up to date!
